Communications Committee

Upcoming Communications Events:

Every year the AEA Communications Committee holds an Emerging Leaders dinner. This year, our event will be on Thursday, January 19th at 5pm (you MUST RSVP to this event.) This dinner is designed for members who are ready to get more involved in the Anchorage Education Association. In the past, we’ve sought input from Building Reps, but we’d like to open it up this year. If you know someone who is interested, or if you are interested in becoming active in AEA, please submit names to The people who are submitted will get a paper invitation from us, through their building rep, as well as e-mail follow up. The event itself includes dinner, social time and a “speed-dating” type set-up to learn about the many ways you can be involved in AEA. If you have questions, please e-mail

Trick or Treat Town
The annual book drive for Trick or Treat Town is happening now! Please collect new books at your school, sort (K-3rd; 4th-6th; and 7th-12th) and label them (request labels here) before dropping them off at the AEA office (4100 Spenard Road) before October 14th.
We also need volunteers to help distribute! Distributing free books to excited children dressed up in Halloween costumes is great fun! The event is at the ACS warehouse and is held October 21st & 22nd. Please sign up to volunteer at this FUN event by clicking here

New members! Check out our New Member BBQ at the Kincaid Chalet on Thursday September 15th at 5pm. Please click here for the flyer, with details. E-mail to RSVP!
